Frederic Hand „Classical Guitar Technique“ – Gute Tipps für die klassische Gitarrentechnik – Tolles Stück „Prayer“

Frederic Hand ist vor allem bekannt durch sein Gitarrenstück „Prayer“.

 

 

Ich habe das Stück allerdings als ersten durch ein Video des Duos Trekel-Tröster mit Mandoline und Gitarre kennen gelernt (siehe Blogbeitrag bei gezuptes.de Steffen Trekel (Mandoline) & Michael Tröster (Gitarre) – Ein komplettes Konzert – Haydn, Scarlatti, Wüsthoff, Munier)

Das Stück wird auch gerne von Gitarrenduos gespielt.

Frederic Hand hat auch mehrere Gitarrenkurse (instructional videos) aufgenommen. Mindestens einer dieser Kurse ist bei youtube zu finden (Sprache Englisch mit Spanischen Untertiteln). Ausserdem gibt es verschiedene Beispiell-lektionen aus diesen Kursen. Ich habe diese in meiner Playliste zusammengestellt.

A graduate of the Mannes College of Music, Frederic Hand was a Fulbright Scholar to England and a student of Julian Bream. His solo performances, both in North and South America and Europe have received the highest critical acclaim. The New York Times wrote: “He played unerringly, with all the verve and spirit that one could ask.”

Appointed the Metropolitan Opera’s guitarist and lutenist in 1984, he has accompanied Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and many other renowned singers.
